Logan Campbell Centre, Auckland, New Zealand (1985)

This was a big one - went with Shady Busch, Geoff and Mark - had tickets upstairs - best greatcoats out - Verlaines were on early playing tracks from Hallelujah All the way Home - one of the great early Flying Nun albums - then an interminable wait until NO decided to turn up - they were good though - I did hang around for the encore and unlike Matthew's tape the one I managed to pick up does have the full encore - there was nobody much left but given that this was one of my first concerts (Bowie serious moonlight kicked it off) I wasn't leaving til the absolute end - it was a lot of money to spend while you were still at school and I was going to make sure I got my moneys worth - certainly did and have made sure that I saw NO on the next couple of times they played Auckland - '87 and 2002 (a pretty long wait between drinks really!
