From NewOrderOnline.com (slumpy)
Staggeringly brilliant day and night, at least for me. Faced with waiting for NO through Julian Cope's set, I did some illicit powdery stuff and, along with German Mark [a guy, not a coin] we met these girls with a load of £2-a-bottle Japanese Whisky, which we sold for them and then settled down in front of the left speakers for the show. By the time JC came on [superb set, a huge surprise to me] I was rocking, by the time NO came on I was 3 rows from the front with a 15' diameter circle around me as I danced for an hour swinging a bottle of naff whisky around my head, keeping the rest of the mob at bay. Mark says he has never to this day seen anything quite like it, this huge crowd, yet right down the front was this nutcase with a bottle and loads of room...maybe my memories are biased, but I was my own hero that day. And New Order were very okay too from what I remember.
