tickets for this gig were like gold dust...the line up explains why...the fall..new order...and the smiths.....never had such a line up been seen...this was a council benefit for liverpool entitled " from manchester with love "...the compere for the night was derek hatton...
for some reason new order came on first...they played a very short set...and seemed slightly disinterested in the proceedings...
the encore for the gig was a mixture of all three bands playing maggies farm...the only rep from new order was hookie...
